Calling a kosher winery a cult winery may sound odd, but Four Gates qualifies: tiny production, exceptional quality and releases that sell out on its website in minutes. My January column in the Wine and Whiskey Globe profiles the winery and the singular vision of its winemaker, Benyamin Cantz.

I explain what makes the estate special, from its south facing slope in the Santa Cruz Mountains to the cool maritime influence and diverse soils, and why devoted fans treat every release as an event. If you have never managed to get a bottle, this column explains why it is worth the effort.
